Prayer, Key to Victory
Dear Partners,
As God’s children and representatives on this earth it is vital that we be in the Spirit during these times of crisis. The power of God working through His children is the only solution for the mess in this world. We need to live in constant communication with the Most High God. Following is an outline of some of the different kinds of prayer; keys to victory.
Ephesians 6:18 AMP tells us to, Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty…
First, we need to make Jesus the Lord of our lives. Jesus prayed the Prayer of Consecration in Luke 22:42 … Yet not My will, but Yours be done. James 4:7 tells us to … submit yourselves to God. We need to live in total dependence upon and in obedience to our Father.
Praise is the vehicle to take us from the realm of the natural into the realm of the supernatural. Psalms 22:3 tells us that God lives in the midst of the praises of His people. Where there is praise, the presence of the Lord will be present. Praise is also a powerful weapon against demonic forces.
Our calling and function is not to replace God, but to work with Him by letting the Holy Spirit pray through us. Intercessory Prayer is an extension of the ministry of Jesus through His Body, the Church, whereby we stand in the gap between God and humanity for the purpose of reconciling the world to Him, or between satan and humanity for the purpose of enforcing the victory of Calvary. Romans 8:26-27 Likewise the Spirit also helps our infirmities. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And He searching the hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
We find the Prayer of Agreement in Matthew 18:18-19 Truly I say to you, Whatever you shall bind on earth shall occur, having been bound in Heaven; and whatever you shall loose on earth shall occur, having been loosed in Heaven. Again I say to you that if two of you shall agree on earth as regarding anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them by My Father in Heaven. The word agree is translated from the Greek word sumphoneo, which is where we get our word symphony. It literally means to make exactly the same sound together. It is like two violins in the same orchestra perfectly tuned to play exactly the same sound together.
Mark 11:23-24 tells us the Prayer of Faith will move mountains and James 5:15 declares the prayer of faith will heal the sick. Many places where the Bible talks about faith, there is an unusual verb construction; a past-perfect tense verb connected to a future tense verb. To come to real faith, we have to know that the object of our faith has already become an accomplished fact in the spirit realm. We must know that it is already a done deal, even though nothing can yet be seen or felt with our natural senses. It must be perceived as a completed fact in the spirit realm before there will be a visible manifestation in this physical, time-space world. Then, at the right time, it will certainly become manifested physically.
II Corinthians 10:3-4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. As we involve ourselves in Spiritual Warfare, it is imperative that we remember we are not trying to defeat the devil. He is already defeated. What we do is re-present the victory of the cross. Our warfare is an extension of what Christ already did. What He did, we enforce with prayer.
Travailing Prayer / Prophetic Declarations Isaiah 66:8 For Zion travailed and also brought forth her sons. Travail is a form of intercession that releases the creative power or energy of the Holy Spirit into a situation to produce, create, or give birth to something. It is often followed by prophetic declarations as in Genesis chapter 1. The Spirit brooded over the earth and then the Lord spoke saying let there be – and it happened.
Watchmen’s Prayer - II Samuel 18:25-27 tells how the purpose of the watchmen on the wall of a city was to watch for approaching situations, good or bad, so those within the city could be ready to respond. A good soldier is very attentive to his surroundings. Isaiah 62:6-7 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
I will conclude this outline on prayer with a prayer from Jesus in Matthew 6:10, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Yes, and amen!

The blessing of the Lord was rich on the mission team we hosted at the end of October.
Participating were Pops and Vi from NC, Dale, Connie, and Debbie from IL, Virgil, Leon, and Andrew from OK, and Bill, Vince, and Ruben’s family from Douglas.
We ministered in Cumpas, Jecori, Nacozari, Divisederos, Moctezuma, and Teonadepa. Each service was uniquely different, but all had a mighty manifestation of the presence of the Lord. Many young people who had been walking far from the Lord were restored and filled with the Spirit.
Pastor Belen Terán of Moctezuma hosted our monthly confraternidad (Fellowship Meeting) for October. Eight area churches were represented. Like individual ingredients of a good stew, coming together to compliment one another to make a savory meal.
Every day the ladies filled Christmas sacks. We did 4300 for the area surrounding Cumpas and other nearby river valleys, and then delivered them to the pastors in charge of the programs. This year we are going to two new towns south of Tepache that do not have Christian churches. Praise the Lord!
Each day the men worked on retainer walls, the preparation for steps up to the Jecori church. It is a steep incline from the street to the church, so it is quite a project. They are still in need of additional funds to purchase more cement. |

Bob took a mission team to Guaymas and Navojoa the same week we had the team in Cumpas. He reports: "Had a great trip. We had people get saved and probably as many as 30 or 40 get filled with the Holy Ghost throughout the week. We worked a couple of days on a hurricane-damaged home of an elderly couple.
The El Shaddai Day was awesome as usual. It was out in Tesia with pigs squealing and chickens running under our feet while we preached. We had a great crowd of graduates even out there. In addition, a whole bunch of church members in Tesia were filled with the Spirit. (El Shaddai Day ’s are when El Shaddai graduates are invited for a day of Holy Ghost ministry and encouragement.)
Miki and I will be graduating the prisoners when in Tesia this month and will be inaugurating El Shaddai in Tesia."
