What Have You Been Thinking On?

Dear Partners,

Best of greetings to you and pleasant thoughts to all. As we think of March, the old phrase comes to mind, time marches on. This can be a joyful thought or a depressing thought depending on the perspective of your future. We like to think of it as a positive indicator that we are ever closer to the next great move of God in the earth.  As we think on our thoughts, here’s an outline of a recent teaching from Barbara. Enjoy! Listen to the teaching. The Joy of the Lord and our Thoughts.

Philippians 4:8 tells us  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Let’s look at the things we are to think on:

1. Things that are true: The word here means complete truth; nothing hidden or concealed.
In John 14:6 Jesus says, I am the way, the truth, and the life. John 17:17 goes on to say, thy word is truth. And in John 8:32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

2. Things that are honest – also means honorable or  noble - Doing the right thing.  Romans 12:17

3. Things that are just:  The word "just" means fair, impartial, square, holy or innocent. Proverbs 11:1 Are my thoughts toward others just? Am I feeding into my mind and thoughts things that meet this standard?

4. Things that are pure: The word pure here means: clean, modest, innocent, chaste, decent, righteous, holy. We live in a world ruled by Satan. It is dirty, immoral, and indecent. The enemy’s time is short and he knows it. He is doing his best to destroy and make us ineffective. Ephesians 5:15 tells believers to live their lives circumspectly. That means to be vigilant and wary. Jesus gave us authority over the enemy. However, we cannot be lax or lazy. God does not set boundaries to limit us but to protect and enhance our lives.

Ephesians 6:18 AMP  Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance, interceding in behalf of all the saints (God’s consecrated people).

5. Things that are lovely: This word means friendly towards, acceptable. Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. I Corinthians 13:7 in the Amplified tells us to, believe the best of every person.

6. Things that are of a good report: Good reports are hard to come by. When the children of Israel were about to enter the Promised Land, they sent out twelve men to check out the lay of the land and what to expect. Two men returned with a "good" report. Everything is just as God promised and even better than we thought. Forward! Ten men brought back an "evil" report, "We can't take this land. It is a harsh, unforgiving land. The people are giants. We are grasshoppers in our own sight. We can't do it.  The two men that brought the good report, Joshua and Caleb, got to enjoy the blessings promised. The men that brought the evil report wandered for forty years and died without experiencing the blessing. It wasn't the giants that kept them out - it was the grasshopper mentality. They spoke doubt and fear. The evil report kept them from the blessing. God does not keep us from the blessing He has promised. Our thoughts, our fears, and our self-denial stop the blessing from overtaking us. Philippians 4:13

7. Things that have virtue - meaning strength, power, valor, or excellence. God's Word is powerful. Our thoughts should be "Word" motivated. God had promised never to leave us or forsake us! Powerful! Satan is the loser and Jesus is the winner! Hallelujah! No weapon formed against us can prosper! No fear! The gates of hell CANNOT prevail against Jesus' body, the church! Glory! We have the keys to the Kingdom and the authority and power that go with it! Praise God! Hebrews 4:12

8. Things that are praiseworthy: God always redirects us to praise. The best way to redirect your thoughts from negative to positive is PRAISE! Praise brings us into God’s presence and makes our enemies flee before us.
The 30,000 random thoughts that cross our minds daily must be focused. When negative or unacceptable thoughts pop up, instantly replace them with good thoughts. You will like the increased level of peace achieved when you direct your mind instead of letting it direct you. Psalms 18:3

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

As you consider what to think on, remember to dump the "trash" every day. Otherwise, it will start to stink!

Cuba

For quite some time our hearts have longed for better ways to send the Gospel into the island nation of Cuba. One year ago, we were blessed to help sponsor a trip by Pastor Carlos Rodriquez of Chihuahua.

Since then Pastor Juan de la Parra of Nacozari, Sonora has picked up the burden and plans a trip in the near future. He’s already put a lot of faith, energy, and money in preparation, including a trip to Mexico City to secure his identification needed for his Mexican passport. He desires to travel as a legal representative of the church rather than a tourist. This requires a completely different approach to the Cuban government.

Please pray for grace, favor, and finances towards this end.

Beware of Terrorists Groups in Church!

Latest news reports are that five terrorist cell groups have been operating in many of our churches. They have been identified as Bin Sleepin, Bin Arguin, Bin Fightin, Bin Complainin, and Bin Missin.
Their leader, Lucifer Bin Workin, trained these groups to destroy the Body of Christ. The plan is to come into the church disguised as Christians and to work within the church to discourage, disrupt, and destroy.
However, there have been reports of a sixth group. A tiny cell known by the name Bin Prayin is actually the only effective counter terrorism force in the church. Unlike other terrorist cells, the Bin Prayin team does not blend in with whoever and whatever comes along. Bin Prayin does whatever is needed to uplift and encourage the Body of Christ. We have noticed that the Bin Prayin cell group has different characteristics than the others. They have Bin Watchin, Bin Waitin, Bin Fastin, and Bin Longin for their Master, Jesus Christ to return.
We get lots of cute communiqué by e-mail, most of which is not worthy of our time, but we like the hidden message in this one.

Mexican Vacation Bible Schools

Jesus told us in Matthew 19:14 … Allow the little children to come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.

IVacation Bible Schoolt will soon be time to order materials for this years VBS’s Last year Faith Ministries provided material for 3,000 children in 35 towns. We are wanting to order at least that much again this year.

These programs present the Gospel in a way that makes it attractive and fun to hear and memorize God’s Word. Most of these children don’t attend a Christian church, so it is a special opportunity to not only sow God’s Word in their hearts but to send it home to their families as well.

Business and Finance Summit

Bob hosted his first Business and Finance Summit in Obregon, Sonora in January. He brought in eight business people with a variety of experience from around the country.  For two days, they did 10 hours of teaching on different subjects about how to prosper in business founded on Biblical principles.

The response was awesome! One hundred and fifty people who are in business or interested in being in business attended. They were like sponges, soaking in every word.

Cumpas Mission Station

Back in the fall, Calvin’s sister, Lynell, gave us blocks for Cumpas. Last week we finally had the time to lay the patio. It’s reallNew Cumpas Patioy nice. Lynell helped Calvin.

Vince Jungenberg, from our home church in Douglas, also helped them. He is spending several months in Cumpas to help Pastor Jesus and learn Spanish.
