Kona, Hawaii Missions Team

Dear Partners,

Thank you, thank you, thank you! We here at Faith Ministries are blessed in so many ways by you. Support comes to us in a variety of ways. As much as we need and appreciate the offerings you send, there is another method of support that reaches deep down within our hearts, encouraging us forward. This vital support is expressed by your prayers to God and your kind words to others in our behalf.

Jesus, Paul, Moses, David; the list goes on and on of the great ones in scripture who suffered slander,  rejection, and disappointments, sometimes from well meaning peers and God knows we’ve all had our share of that. Never-the-less God’s Word comes up strong in our hearts today as we remember God speaking to a discouraged and lonely Elijah from I Kings 19, “I have 7,000 faithful, not bowing their knees to Baal.” *

In Acts chapter 27, we find Paul being encouraged by an angel during shipwreck and said to his mates, “Cheer up boys and stick with me, I know we’ll make it through, because God’s got a plan for my future.”*

* Scriptures paraphrased

We desire for our letters to encourage you even as you have encouraged us, for God does have a plan for your future and ours.

It is interesting to note that most of the encouraging words we receive from God’s Word were spoken in faith, by people who had enemies swarming around them like flies.

As you read the following scriptures, join your praises with ours and let’s agree together for one another’s victory.

Hebrews 10: 23- 24, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works.” Verses 35-36, “Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Romans 8:37.

To God All Glory,

Calvin and Barbara

FAITH MINISTRIES no longer has a pink mission house in Cumpas. It’s now yellow. Calvin and Barbara were able to spend a week there in September doing some much needed painting, repairs, and cleaning. Alberto and Zulma from Jecori helped us paint one day.

We praise God for this house. It is an awesome blessing to us and all of the guests that visit. The sweet presence of the Lord is always present and what awesome times we have!

We would still like to put new beds and mattresses in the big bedroom. The present beds really make people realize they are on a mission trip.

Hawaiian Mission Team

It was a joy to have Pastors Jason and Terry Meechan and their team from Kona Faith Center of the big island, Hawaii. They shine with God’s love and flow in the Spirit to bless our family here.

The ladies worked on packaging the first 2,300 Christmas gifts while praying blessing over each child that will receive God’s Word in this attractive package.

The men worked on the parsonage addition in Tepache. Pastors Rodrigo and Olga Suja and their two children have been living in a 12’x24’ casita for the past two years, so this added space will truly be appreciated.

The team put the walls up and bought the roof. The house will still need flooring, plumbing, cabinets, and finish work to make it comfortable.

The last night we had a meal and service for area pastors and their families. It was a beautiful time of fellowship with anointed word and prayer.

As you can see in the pictures, eating and fellowship is always a pleasant part of our time together.  We pray, visit, and laugh A LOT! Everyone always goes home refreshed in their spirits.

Ruben and Maria Serrato always help with us mission teams. They love going and are a blessing in more ways than we can count. But their children, Lucy and Ivan have grown to be a great blessing as well. They both speak Spanish and English well and help do lots of translating. Last week they both worked hard with a servant’s heart, and they literally shone with a missionary anointing.

More good news: In August Pastors Alberto and Zulma Ruelas’ car was crushed when a retaining wall collapsed on top of it. They have been without a car for the past two months.  In Jecori there is no bus or taxi so they have been isolated there; at times suffering with cabin fever. Well, praise the Lord, the Hawaiians gave the needed money so they can have their car repaired. They also gave an offering to buy a door and window to close in the only bedroom in their house.
