The Prayer of Agreement
from Calvin
Matthew 18:19 KJV Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
Many beautiful teachings flow from our pulpits in the theme of this scripture. In my life, I have recently been made aware of what that looks like by many of our Friends of the Faith.
Listen to the powerful words, as I share excerpts from one of the love letters we’re received. It came right after we found out that my body was under attack.
Dear Calvin and Barbara, We love and appreciate you and your family so much. You are all so faithful and dedicated to the people God has called you to serve. We have bound ourselves to pray for Calvin’s complete recovery. By the wounds Jesus bore in His own body, we are healed. What do you need? What can we do to help you? Please let us know. Because of Jesus’ great Name, we bind ourselves in love and prayer with you. M&D Kentucky
The folks that wrote this are people of faith and old-fashioned commitment. Like Barb and I, they come from a generation where contracts were sealed with a handshake and one’s word was his bond.
According to our Holy Bibles, we clearly see that when Jesus suffered at Calvary, He shed His own life’s blood to see God’s promise of health and eternal life for all who believe.
With this opportunity, I humbly send my heart’s deep appreciation to all of you who are praying in faith with us.
Of the many possible treatments and remedies, both spiritual and natural, my personal endeavor is to fully enter into the rest of God as promised by Him in Hebrews. Resting in God’s promise will bring me to a place of ease where no dis-ease can be found.
For in Him we live and move, and have our being. Acts 17:28 KJV
Floating Thoughts
So much to be said:
Is it all necessary to say?
Who will listen?
To whom shall I offer my words?
Should I speak of life or death?
This life or the next?
Are they really separate?
Or actually connected?
This life we live on earth is full of choices.
50% right choices,
50 % wrong choices
We tend to look for a choice
In the middle, it’s not there!
The next step we take,
Will it be correct
Or incorrect???

Stay Up My Hands
from Calvin
Sunday morning in mid-October our Douglas pastors, Mitch and Nina Nelson were participating in a wedding in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico and I was in charge of the pulpit ministry at Faith Ministries Church.
I had quite a struggle all morning with lots of physical discomfort and mental blockage and lots of questions asking why in my subconscious. I then heard the Holy Spirit in the deep of my deep responding with, “It’s because most all of your physical strength and your mental awareness are pre-occupied within you, having joined your spirit, fighting your enemy, and holding a guard against him.”
It was then that I cried out, “Oh, God that you would give me Aaron and Hur to stay up my hands.”
Exodus 17:10-12 So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. 11 And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. 12 But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
By the end of the service, the grace of God had helped me circumnavigate the obstacles. Someone, somewhere, had been praying for me, holding up my hands.
If you are one of the many who want to help us in these days, I exhort you to be quick to obey the voice of the Holy Spirit, and together we will realize our victory in Jesus!
Life and Death or Blessing and Cursing
from Barbara
Deuteronomy 30:19-20a NKJV I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live; 20 that you may love the LORD your God, that you may obey His voice, and that you may cling to Him, for He is your life and the length of your days…
We inherit blessing by blessings others. We can’t afford to render evil for evil or insult for insult. When we engage in gossip, backbiting, murmuring, or verbal attack upon another, we pass these curses back to ourselves. It’s the boomerang effect.
Blessing arrives by refraining from speaking evil and speaking good to and about others. God has deemed blessings to come to us only as we say and do good to others. We inherit blessing by blessing others.
I Peter 3:9-10 NKJV “Not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. He who would love life and see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.”
Words are creative. When we speak them we give them life. Evil thoughts are like temptations from Satan. When we speak them we birth them. When we have impressions from God and speak them we give them life. When we decree God’s Word it is a creative power that changes situations.
When we put voice to God’s Word, we come into agreement with Him and His Word, and then He performs it for us! We agree with God’s Word. We speak. We believe. He performs it.
Psalms 103:20 NASB Bless the Lord, you His angels, mighty in strength, who perform His word, obeying the voice of His word!
Angels have been given a direction from God to obey the voice of His Word. So when we decree God’s Word, the angels are being released to do the work of His Word!
Eight years ago, on the rim of Canyon de Shelly on the Navajoa reservation, we had a divine appointment with a Navajo lady. A few days before the Lord gave her this word, “When evil thoughts come to our mind, stop them there, don’t let them come out of your mouth. Speak only happy words that encourage and bless.”
Ephesians 4:29-32 NKJV Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
Matthew 22:37-39 NKJV Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Who is in the first place here? (God) Love is free and flowing. Love is never controlling and manipulative. If someone says, “If you love me you will do what I want you to do.” That is manipulation, not love. We are to love one another, not try to control one another. Love always completes, not competes!
As we stay connected with God through fellowship and staying full of the Holy Spirit, we are filled with His love, which then, reflects to others. As we renew our minds with God-influenced thoughts, our actions have to follow and then we become a blessing to those around us instead of a hindrance. When I am me-focused, I demand. When I am spirit-focused, I love.
Principles for our Christian life: Philippians 2:3-9; 13 NLT Don't be selfish; don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. 5 You must have the same attitude (mind NKJV) that Christ Jesus had. 6 Though He was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.7 Instead, He gave up His divine privileges; He took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When He appeared in human form, 8 He humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's death on a cross. 9 Therefore, God elevated Him to the place of highest honor and gave Him the name above all other names 13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.
No one has a perfect attitude all of the time. We must all continually adjust our attitude to be Christ-like. One way to adjust our attitude is to worship God. Psalms 34:1-3 NKJV I will bless the LORD at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 3 O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.

Luke 2:10 MEV But the angel said to them, “Listen! Do not fear. For I bring you good news of great joy, which will be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
When Jesus comes into the hearts of people their lives are transformed from sadness to joy. In the past 36 years, Faith Ministries has helped to reach 323,000 children with the good news of the Gospel through Christmas programs. We plan to reach another 12,000 children this year. Hallelujah! We send a warm thank you to our precious partners!
Our ministry partners and representatives in the area of Navojoa, Sonora, Felipe, and Carmen Vasquez, oversee Faith Ministries’ work in that region.
For the past couple of years, they take a bus from Navojoa to Guadalajara, Mexico. There are toy factories there where they purchase the toys at a much lower price than they can buy them in Navojoa and have them shipped to their ministry headquarters in Navojoa. This stretches the Christmas money, so they can also buy piñatas, and provide a festive meal at the programs.
