Take Heart - With All Confidence

Dearest Hungry Hearts,

Last month we shared some nuggets about our personal relationship with the Holy Spirit and the Person to person, Spirit to spirit communication He wants with us. We mentioned God’s multifaceted purpose, one point being, His desire for a Jesus type, Father/Son communication and relationship.

Another very important purpose is that our Spirit to spirit lifestyle is to be used to give life force and power to the spoken Word of God. It’s obvious that when He speaks, His Word lacks nothing. In Isaiah 55:11 He declares. “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;” It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

What He speaks forth will absolutely come to fulfillment. However, what about when we speak His word? Keep in mind that the devil can speak the word too, but does it work for him in fulfilling its purpose? No! So we must consider the necessity for God’s Life force power to be behind the words that we speak.

In II Corinthians 3:6 we hear, “…not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.Example: if I include a word of scripture in a carnal joke, it edifies no one and has no power to change a life or much less the world. I need to be in a Spirit to spirit mode, receiving instruction and inspiration when I speak the Holy Word of God. That, my friend, is changing lives and the very world around us.

When I speak God’s word with His Spirit life force behind it, I can be assured that as in Isaiah 55:11, His word, even from my mouth, will accomplish what He pleases.

In Mark 16:15-20 we find Jesus giving believers the authority to preach in His name and do miracles. In Acts 1:8 we read, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” The infilling, baptism, and His, coming upon us, is the life force power of the word of God that is still changing the world.

At this point, I want to encourage you all to take heart with all confidence, concerning the word of God you are speaking and praying over your families and various situations. If you are in the Spirit to spirit mode, your words / His words will prosper in the thing for which He sends it.

Thank you for your prayerful and faithful giving to God’s work here through Faith Ministries. This too, is a force used by the Lord to send His word to the world. By this we can also say, God’s word is changing the world and I am privileged to be included in God’s plan to make it happen,

In His Fields,

Calvin and Barbara

Considerations

God’s Word requires no test or proving season to see if it works.

God’s Word has never failed and never will.

God’s Word is the beginning of all things and the end of all things.

God has the final say.

Take sides with God in Word and Spirit and your life is the first one to change.

Launching New Missionary

We are very happy to announce that one of our spiritual daughters, Jasmine A. Hurtado, who was born again at Faith Ministries Church and has been faithful here for 10 years, is launching into missionary work in Mexico. She has loved and felt called to work in Mexico for a long time.

She’s been teaching school here in Douglas, and is now going to be teaching at a Christian School (Instituto Visión) in Obregon, Sonora. She will be working with Pastors Gustavo and Ruth Vega and their family.

She is excellent working with children of all ages. She teaches adult classes, sings with the worship team, and is always ready to help with whatever is going on.

This is a big step of faith for her. She will be making a small salary teaching at the school, but it won’t even make her car payment, much less her living expenses. Her trust is in God to meet her every need. If God touches your heart to help her you can send her offerings through Faith Ministries.

We will miss her, but we are sowing her so we will reap a harvest of more faithful, excellent workers. Galatians 6:7

Highlighting Pastors and Their Ministries in Mexico

Faith Ministries supports other ministries through some of the following ways: VBS materials, Christmas gift bags, offerings, mission teams, and encouragement. In the coming months, we will introduce those we support and work with.

Teri and Arturo

In Granados, Sonora, México:

Missionaries / Pastors Arturo and Teri Noriega

In 1995 we met Arturo and Teri and their lovely daughters Damaris and Tamara at the Teran’s church in Moctezuma. Their hearts were being drawn to a community that lies along the west side of the Bavispe River. Granados - probably closed to the Gospel more so than any pueblo we ever tried to evangelize.

The intensity of the spiritual warfare required to open even a crack in the religious wall has been a major challenge. The boldness to spiritually fight against these ancient forces, all the while walking in the wisdom of God, clearly coincides with the command our Lord gave to his disciples when he said, “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.” Matthew 10:16

The Noriega’s have stood the test of time and patience. Their labors are not in vain. Even though the visible fruit at this writing would seem to be but a few converts, we honor the price that has been paid to win these precious souls for Jesus.

Pray with us for the Noriega family. Specifically for their spiritual stamina, mental well being, physical health, and financial sufficiency. Eternity will tell the story and Granados will be saved, in Jesus name.

Octavio and Blanca

In Jecori, Sonora

Pastors Octavio and Blanca Peralta

Their history merges well with what we wrote earlier about Pastor Ruben Serrato and his story in the founding of Monte Sinai in Jecori.  The church property was first purchased with a small two room house with a leaky roof. The Serrato's held services in one room and lived in the other. The pueblo was shy of this Iglesia Cristiana, yet kept up a cautious interest. Ruben, determined to reach the people would broadcast his services over loud speakers. The location situated on a hill was perfect for sending his message a half a mile through town.

Little did Ruben know that Octavio and Blanca were sitting out on their front porch listening to God’s Word with hungry hearts.  Over time, their courage finally rose to the place where they dared an investigative visit to the church. A warm fellowship quickly developed between the Serrato’s and the Peraltas. Octavio and Blanca joyfully accepted Jesus and began experiencing the realities of a born again lifestyle.

Octavio’s occupation as school teacher soon found expression in teaching others about the Lord. He comes across as a natural P.R. person and has a good positive influence in the community.

The Peraltas took the pastorate of the church when Pastors Alberto and Zulma Ruelas left in 2012. They have excelled in both soul winning, development of the congregation, and property They have five children; Gabriel, Minette, Stephanie, Mareli, and Octavio Jr. Pastor Octavio’s 82 year-old mother Martha also lives with them.

I have a smile in my heart as I think about how this all goes back to Pastor Ruben and his loudspeaker and the grace of God that was upon him in those days to reach the shy Rancheros of Jecori, Sonora.
